This weekend. ♥
Fri left early for Senior pics. Got my hair cut & got the pics done. The beach was so lovely.
Met b-unit @ UNO's for her b-day dinner.
Then went to Fridays with ivo steve tim & Leigh.
it was hilarious. & really crowded.
then I went to dance forever.
Saturday I slept till 2. =)=)
Got ready & went to ivo's concert.
Then we went back to his house & had dinner & watched man on fire.

When I came home I passssed out.
Then had dance today for about 3.5 hours. It was sooo hot in that place.
She told me that if I had always danced as amazingly as I am now, she couldn't imagine how far I'd be. & that she was really pleased. :):) It made me soooo happy.
I caaaame home & took a shower then got ready & went to the flute concert.
It was perfect.
absolutly perfect.
Then I had work. & now I'm home. & I'm not doing any homework. :)
one full week left.
THANK GOD.

Collecting duct. The collecting duct now carries the filtrate back in the direction of the medulla and renal pelvis. The epithelium of the collecting duct is permeable to water but not to salt. Thus, as the collecting duct traverses the gradient of osmolarity that exists in the interstitial fluid, the filtrate loses more and more water by osmosis to the hyperosmotic fluid outside the duct. Loss of water concentrates the urea in the filtrate, but not all of this urea is immediately passed along to the renal pelvis in the urine. At the bottom of the collecting duct, in the inner medulla, the epithelium of the duct is permeable to urea.
Because of the high concentration of urea in the filtrate at this point, some of the urea diffuses out of the duct and into the interstitial fluid bathing the portions of nephrons in the medulla. This interstitial urea is a major solute contributing, along with the salt, to the high osmolarity of the interstitial fluid in the kidney medulla. And, it is this high osmolarity of the interstitial fluid that enables the kidney to conserve water by excreting a urine that is hyperosmotic to the general body fluids.

Sodium causes vasoconstriction, the narrowing of blood vessels. Therefore, the amount of space blood has to travel through decreases. This decrease creates an increase in the resistance the blood has to overcome. This increased resistance makes it more difficult for the arteries to expand with each beat of the heart, causing the internal pressure to rise. High sodium foods include processed meats, salted snack foods, cheeses, and canned foods.

To better understand the physiology of the mammalian kidney as a water-conserving organ, let us retrace the flow of filtrate through the renal tubule, this time focusing on how the juxtamedullary nephrons maintain an osmolarity gradient in the kidney and use that gradient to excrete a hyperosmotic urine
As the filtrate flows through the proximal convoluted tubule, located in the kidney cortex, a large amount of water and salt is reabsorbed; thus, the volume of filtrate decreases substantially at this stage, but the osmolarity remains about the same. Now the filtrate begins its serpentine trip, down into the medulla within the descending limb of the loop of Henle, back up to the cortex in the ascending limb, and then down to the medulla one more time within the collecting duct. |

I did soooo much better on midterms then I thought.
All A's & B's. except for a friggin 79 in socio ec.
Oh well.

Spain in 30 days with 2 of my best freyendsssss. <3
& basically. third term seems like a breeze.
Every teacher admitted that it'll be easy.
As of right now. I am exempt from every final. except English. So basically I need to get an A this term. Which probbbably won't happen.
But hey. whatev. =p
I agree with Amanda S. that as of right now, Things are amazing.
I'm happy.
